Cape Town offers a vast range of hotels and guest lodges of all categories. For participants of the ICCRRR 2018 and their guests, special rates will be negotiated with a number of hotels in the V&A Waterfront (which is the most popular tourist destination on the African continent).
From Cape Town there are endless possibilities to explore the tourist side of South Africa. The Cape Peninsula itself is one of the 5 floral kingdoms of the world and offers striking national parks and the beautiful Table Mountain tableau with its numerous hiking trails. From the city centre it is one hour to the Cape of Good Hope, where the Atlantic meets the Indian Ocean. November is the time when hundreds of whales visit the Cape waters and whale watching is guaranteed to be a success. Cape Town as a city offers a range of first class cultural activities, an exciting nightlife, and excellent restaurants and bars of all types. The beaches of the city rank between the most beautiful of the world, and the weather is in general very sunny in November. Cape Town is surrounded by the wine-making industry with its elegant vineyards and old Cape-Dutch architecture straddling the Hottentots Holland mountain range. Tours to Game Parks, such as the famous Kruger National Parks, or to other tourist destinations in South Africa and neighbouring countries can easily be organised from here. Please do not hesitate to contact the organising committee for details.
